First IKEA Product I Don’t LoveWe just assembled our Tarva bed after selling our box spring; metal frame + headboard in the search for a platform bed.
However, somehow this bed wound up being exactly as high as our previous set up. While it may appear in photos as quite low, it (in combination with a pillowtop mattress) is above the height of our standard sized end tables, and the headboard looks extremely small and out of proportion.
The mattress also doesn’t fit snugly into the frame - it shifts from side to side quite a bit. It’s as though the frame is just slightly too oversized and it makes things appear sloppy.
And lastly, we had a screw strip out and get stuck when fixing the headboard to the sides, and are now fairly certain that the bed will not be able to come apart without some significant damage. Therefore, we aren’t able to even take it apart and return or sell to try and find a better option.

Love this bed!We just got this bed and it was very easy to put together. It takes time, but the instructions are pretty clear. We love the design so much! We haven’t slept in it yet, but so far so good. It’s very comfy and there is no noise at all.

Sturdy very nice bedI've had this for about 3 years now. It's as sturdy as it was when I first put it together. I love the natural solid wood. It was a little physically challenging (esp the headboard part) to put together but I love this bed so much that I am buying a second one. It's not wobbly like other Ikea beds I've tried (Malm, Hemnes).

Purchased this frame along with a coil mattress from IKEA in the month of June/2017. Absolutely look forward to sleeping on it. Assembly was for me, very straight forward. I added a drop of wood glue to the wooden dowel holes to add long-term strength. I thought the metal support bars and slat assembly was ingenious. So simple to put the frame together. Compliments to the <<Wordless Instructions Guide>> team. Never an easy task to create a cross-cultural assembly directions.

Best Bedframe I Have OwnedExactly as pictured, sturdy, reliable, easy to move. A lot to initially assemble, but it ships in a very small box. Also, for moving it comes apart to about 5 major pieces, no need to completely disassemble.
After a nightmare Jysk metal bed that squeaked like nothing else, this bed with Luröy slats was silent during "activities." I don't know how the other reviewer managed to break a slat. They held up for me under vigorous activity.

Great, especially for the priceHave been sleeping on this frame for 8 months now and it is great. Gotta say it took like an hour straight to put together, but if you follow the instructions it is not difficult. And it's good if you have someone (maybe you!) strong tighten everything before the mattress goes on. It really minimizes any squeaking or wobbling which another reviewer mentioned and I have found in previous Ikea frames. My PerfectSleeper mattress came with a box spring so I threw it on my Luroy slats as well - because why not - and it is cooommmmfffyyyy. It covers basically the whole headboard though, oh well. So far no squeakies in the frame, easily supports two adults, and has a nice simple warm look to it.

more than 200 seperate parts for a bed is stupid44 screw+anchor combos, 49 individual pieces of wood (including slats), 13 separate large pieces of metal, ~44 wooden dowels, 8 plastic screw things. Plus 64 pre-affixed staples, and four pieces of cloth.
This is a ridiculous contraption of a bed. It takes an eternity to set up, needs multiple screwdrivers, and has MORE THAN 200 SEPARATE PARTS. Ikea really has failed to adapt its products towards simplicity or ease of construction. Casper foundation has 11 separate parts. Floyd's platform bed has 13 parts. Did I mention that this bed has more than 200?
Lastly, the slats are also very weak, 150lb me once sat down too hard and broke one.

Great bed, but a bit squeaky/wobbly.I think this bed is a good size and shape, and it looks fantastic. the set-up was moderately difficult, but that can be expected if you're a first time buyer of an ikea product like I was when I bought this bed. It does wobble a little bit which makes it sound creaky. the wobble is most noticeable in the headboard.
